Controlled Freeze Thaw Systems

Today's high yield biological processes have exposed a bottleneck in down stream processing technologies. The higher yields mean that a biologics plant can produce the primary protein but the processing and purification times mean that this stage has to be stored so that titre and yields are not lost. Typically, this is done by freezing the product and thawing under controlled conditions, preventing damage to the protein(s).

Zeta have developed the controlled freeze thaw system, which allows fully automated control of the sterilisation, freezing, storage, and thawing process. This allows biologics plants to make effective use of existing processing technologies. We have over 150 such systems installed since the design was perfected two years ago. The zeta solution allows up to 300 litres of sterile product to be frozen, stored, and thawed in a controlled manner with full validation support package for cGMP production processes.
