Bottom driven magnetic agitator bio-m®

The bio-m® impeller is the first choice where reduction of temperature and concentration gradients, in low viscous solutions are required. Its special feature is a predominantly radial mixing action, which has the effect of drawing down from the liquid surface. The action of the impeller allows effective mixing, without the use of baffles and facilitates the mixing of soluble and insoluble solid particles. The energy and mass transfer inside the reaction system is optimised by the choice of the impeller system, guaranteeing the even distribution of the 3 phases (solid, liquid, gas).

Based on our know-how in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and food technology, we can advise you on the appropriate system component. This includes the choice of drive system and the mounting variants (plug-in flange or weld plate).

The containment shell of a magnetic agitator is part of the weld plate and guarantees the hermetic sealing of the vessel interior from the surrounding atmosphere. For cleaning purposes, we designed the inevitable gaps as large as possible, making the distance between the agitator head and the containment shell up to 7mm, depending on the agitator size.

Many different motor types are available: DC driven, AC driven and if needed, explosion proof type, variable speed motors, with a separate or integrated frequency converter and pneumatic drive. All these features are combined with the suitable gear variant. The optional quick removing device allows a simple demounting of the motor, in case the vessel or reactor is to be sterilised in an autoclave. The obtainable lowering device for the driving magnet of agitators, with a high torque capacity, facilitates the simple and safe disassembly of the agitator head in strong magnetic fields.
