The company's patented technology employs a piston, which is driven electro-magnetically through the fluid in the measurement chamber. Proprietary circuitry then analyses the piston's travel time,measuring absolute viscosity, monitoring temperature and, where considered appropriate, reporting temperature compensated viscosity.

Product control (dosing of constituent components) via limits set against the 4-20mA outputs of viscosity, temperature or temperature compensated viscosity, enables the CAS sensor to influence and monitor the viscosity of a vast array of liquid systems.
