Contact Angle

A range of video based contact angle devices and accessories are available for the evaluation of both static and dynamic contact angles. Surface properties such as surface free energy (including polar and disperse componants), absorption, and surface homogeneity are determined by the evaluation of this data. Liquid/air and liquid/liquid interactions are also evaluated through the analysis of images formed by the hanging of liquid drops (the pendant drop method).

Ultimately, by combining what we have learned about the properties of our surfaces (substrates) and candidate liquids we can, through our unique "work of adhesion" software, determine the relative tendency for a whole host of liquids to interact in an acceptable manner with a range of surfaces.
