Inertsil HPLC Columns

Inertsil® HPLC Columns

GL Sciences Inc. manufactures the world renowned Inertsil® rangeof hplc Columns.
Inertsil® hplc columns offer exceptional physical and chemicalstability resulting in outstanding chromatographic peak shape and long termcolumn performance.

There is now over 2,000 GL Science, InertsilHPLC products available at carlstuart.com.

Inertsil® hplc columns can be classified into a number of families as follows:

Inertsil® 3 Series

Inertsil® 2 Series

Inertsil® for Proteins andPeptides (WP300 Series)

Other GL SciencesHPLC Columns

Inertsil 2 Series

The original 2-Series Inertsil phases, including Inertsil®ODS-2 (Octadecyl), Inertsil®C8 (Octyl), Inertsil® Ph (Phenyl), Inertsil® C4 (Butyl ,and Inertsil® SIL-150A, createdthe high purity silica revolution in the late 1980s.  These phases utilizea 99.999% pure silica which is extremely durable and free from dents and cracks- which can cause premature column failure.

By choosing Inertsil ODS-2 series columns, you can beassured  that you are using some of the most trusted, popular, andenduring HPLC columns in the history of HPLC.

The original Inertsil 2-Series of columns remain some of themost useful and popular on the market today. However, GL Sciences' Inertsil3-Series phases were a major advancement on the original 2-Series, andgenerally provide superior chromatography and alternative selectivity to the2-Series.  We recommend starting out with Inertsil®ODS-3 or Inertsil®ODS-3V for new methods using an ODS (C18) phase.

GL Sciences has compiled a vast collection of chromatographic applications data onODS-2 and their other phases which can assist you in method development.

Key Benefits

  • Virtually free of trace metal contaminants which can cause peak tailing
  • Outstanding peak shape for acids and bases
  • Exceptional physical and chemical durability provides long column life
  • Vast database of chromatographic applications available to assist in method development
  • One of most popular and trusted HPLC columns in industry for nearly 15 years

Inertsil ODS-80A

GL Sciences' Inertsil® ODS-80A was originally introduced to provide a higher surface areaalternative to Inertsil®ODS-2, but with the same inertness and base-deactivatedproperties.   However, Inertsil ODS-80A was quickly followed by therelease of Inertsil®ODS-3 , which proved far superior to both the ODS-2 phase andODS-80A.  While GL Sciences continues to produce Inertsil ODS-80A tosupport customerĂ¢€â„¢s methods on this material, we DO NOT RECOMMEND this phasefor NEW APPLICATIONS.

By choosing Inertsil ODS-2 series columns, you can beassured  that you are using some of the most trusted, popular, andenduring HPLC columns in the history of HPLC.

Inertsil 3 Series

The Inertsil 3-series represents a major advance inperformance over the original Inertsil 2-Series. Inertsil 3-Series phases arebased on a purer, higher surface area silica which is specially manufactured toprovide maximum bonded phase coverage.  The result is a series of columnswhich provide excellent peak shapes using simple eluents while operating at lowpressure.

Inertsi 3-Series isavailable in a wide range of bonded phases, including ODS-3, ODS-3V, ODS-Sprint for reduced retention of non-polarcompounds, C8-3, Phenyl-3, ODS-EP containing an embedded polar group forincreased retention of polar compounds, CN-3, HILIC, NH2, Diol, and aPolymerically bonded ODS-P phase with unique selectivity for planar compounds.ODS-P was uniquely designed for analysis of 16 priority PAHs in environmentalsamples but has also found to be useful for pharmaceutical analysis of planarcompounds.

Inertsil ODS-3, alongwith most of the other Inertsil 3-series phases, are available in 3, 5, and 8micron particle sizes in column configurations ranging from capillary to 50mmID preparative sizes.

GL Sciences hascompiled a vast collection of chromatographicapplications data on ODS-3 and their other phases which can assist you inmethod development.  These can be accessed under the"chromatograms" link on the main menu bar above, by searching for aparticular compound using our "search" link above, or by clicking here.

Inertsil Protein and Peptide RP Analysis

The new Inertsil WP300 series of columns brings the same legendaryperformance of Inertsil's narrow-pore HPLC products to columns designed forprotein and peptide analysis.  The WP300 series currently consists of WP300C8,WP300C18, WP300Diol, WP300C4, WP300SIL and PeptideC18. .

Inertsil WP300 C4columns are typically used for analysis of large proteins or very hydrophobicproteins which are too highly retained on C8 or C18 phases.

Inertsil WP300 columns are available in 5 micron particle size incolumn configurations
ranging from capillary to 50mm ID preparative sizes.

( Wide Pore Columns for Protein andPeptide Chromatography )

  • Low operating pressures even in highly aqueous conditions
  • Exceptional reproducibility
  • Rigid silica formulation provides physical and chemical stability
  • High bonded phase coverage results in sharp and symmetric peaks
  • Super pure wide pore ( 300Å ) silica provides superior chromatography

Inertsil ODS-3, alongwith most of the other Inertsil 3-series phases, are available in 3, 5, and 8micron particle sizes in column configurations ranging from capillary to 50mmID preparative sizes.

By choosing InertsilODS-3 , you can be assured  that you are using one of the most trusted, popular, and enduring HPLC columns in the history of HPLC.
